Onwards and Downwards Continues in January 2015
Happy New Year,
I hope you all let your hair down a little for the holidays and had some fun. I was going to do something about detox but that's not really what we are about here is it?
So how about Dry January, anyone going for it?
Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

We are all familiar enough aren't we, with stories of people who lose weight only to out it all back on again. Well a couple of years ago, with your support I lost 3 stone. In 2013 I lost another half a stone and last year I maintained about the same weight all year. But this Christmas I accepted every chocolate offered and managed to gain a whopping 6lbs. If it wasn't...

Maydup I too have stayed the same despite being reasonable good .but this is how I go so hopefully a result next week .
Jomlette every little bit is a bonus you will get there
Xstitcher this is where the problems start when you run out of foods to prepare .HOpefully you will get out soon to stock up .
OG going the right way even though it is small amount . Give your scales a chance...if you know you have been naughty your scales will not lie for you .

I finally (late I know, I should do it as I go so I know where I am) totaled the input from yesterday. Turns out I hadn't eaten too much as I thought but was suspiciously under target. This is both unusual and difficult to believe, but I've checked and can't think of anything forgotten. So just maybe the 0.4 lbs is possible. I shall be keeping my eye on it though.
Well don Jom for losing, and wend for not gaining.

Morning all,
Hope you had a good weekend full of salads and green tea (wink).
I can just about see February around the corner and wondered if anyone had any inspiration for a theme for next month's thread.
There is Valentine's day perhaps we could have some alternative goodies instead of the dreaded (but delightful) box of choccies?
Please leave your answers below, I will check back later in the week :-)
cheers

Despite an OG style fight with my scales this morning I have concluded a 1lb loss this week too. (Old fashioned dial scales which didn't like being moved when I could no longer see them where they were. They tried to give me an extra half stone in protest!)
The best option for me is to replace chocolate with a yoghurt and some fruit. It needs to be low fat and low sugar yoghurt of course. And make the fruit interetsing so vary it from week to week.
Its hard though and I do struggle to resist a bisciut of a piece of chocolate if OH has any in the house! I have to do my best to grap another handful of grapes or a satsuma.
If your date wants to buy you a valentines gift, ask for a night out at the cinema or theatre and avoid focusing on food at all!

Glad to see no one else seems to be following my trend. That said I didn't type it quite right. turns out it was down until Friday, shot up until Monday, and has gone down again until today. But still an overall gain. Well there was that Malaysian meal and the pub lunch I suppose. That's the trouble with having guests.
I think I've said this before OG, you're over weighing yourself. It you could cut down....start slowly since it's you :-)) to every other day and try to work it down to once a week. If you list what you eat then maybe that would be a better help as to where the variation comes in. I would guess that not all intake can be seen the day after.
