Hello all,
Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Easter is almost upon us and while the kiddies may enjoy gorging on the chocolate it is not ideal so how about some healthy but yummy alternative treats instead?
how about some tasty oaty biscuits:

These have honey as a sweetener and no sugar!
Chocolate covered strawberries or other fruit is also a good way to reduce the sugar especailly if you use good quality dark chocolate, or you could use a yoghurt or creme freche dip instead.
This is making me hungry and I might do the yoghurt fruit dip with some chopped bananas, peaches or even dried apricots (although these do have a sugar coating I think).
It can be difficult if you are around your kids or grandchildren but these are a great start :-)
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

I'm still over here on the naughty step after a series of over indulgencies. A family wedding weekend, followed soon after by a week off work, and now a lovely long Easter weekend have all taken their toll. I am back to my Christmas weight so I need to take some serious action from now on.
Nothing that I cannot manage I suppose so here goes.....

Well, I've no info from last week to judge by: and I was thinking I'd not got hit too hard by the fortnight off, and the apparent difficulty in staying low input when out of the normal routine, and away, but it seems I gained 2.6 lbs over the fortnight.
(One consolation is that it is 1 lb down from the last previous weighing I was able to make on the 28th. Looks like that first week, particularly a jump between the 26th and 27th, was the 'killer'. Strange because I thought the second week was the least disciplined.)

Great news Jomlett well done you. And the weather is lovely - time for a new dress?!
I am down 3lbs from last week. Some of my recent gain was clearly temporary and easily shifted, but I need to keep this healthy eating going again now and be serious with myself about reaching my next target weight. I have a special occaision to attend at the end of May and that is giving me something to work toward.
I was pleased when I dug out my spring jacket that it fitted fairly loosely. These small positives give me such a boost!
Good to hear from you again this morning xstitcher. Slowly but surely with the walking and take care of yourself.

Glad folk are doing well, either getting better or losing weight. Unfortunately I'm spoiling things by going up again. 1.4 lbs. I know I've had time off recently and I seem to lose the plot during those times, but I've been back into the old routine a week now and it should be sorted; but not it seems. Going to have to try harder over the next 7 days.
I know just how you feel OG. You and I only have to glance away from the regime and consider a chip butty and we've gained 2lb. To actually eat one costs another 2lb and then theres the penalty for doing so and we're suddenly 6lb up.
That happened to me over Easter but give it another week back on the straight and narrow and you'll see a loss I know you will. Onwards!
