Onwards & Downwards January 2016

Good morning everyone!
Sorry to be sort-of-late again :)
Here's last month's thread: http:// www.the answerb ank.co. uk/Body -and-So ul/Weig ht-Loss -and-Di eting/Q uestion 1462706 .html
I'm glad some of you stayed the course over Christmas (and secretly even happier for those who strayed with me!)
How is 2016 faring so far? Did you bin the nibbles?
Here's me:
You wouldn't believe how fat I was after Christmas. I don't think I've ever been so heavy.
It's a good motivator though! I've been running every day, sometimes twice a day, this year - and I've cut back my calorie intake to between 900-1400 a day.
I don't particularly feel hungry and I've dropped 4kg/8.8lbs already. Some of that is obviously salt and water from January 2nd.
Anyway, I feel like I'm on track.
One helpful thing I'm doing is redefining what a treat is, and what "off the rails" is.
Oh, and no beer.
What are your rules? What do you do to keep yourself on the slimming track?

Congrats to all the losers. It's so good to hear how hard you are all working on it. Pat yourselves on the back!

Probably just over half a pound loss this week but at least it is the right way .
OG lol can't keep up,with your caiculations . Just do a weekly or twice weekly weigh and I think you will, get better results . If you overeat one day it may not show up the next day . I think you are having us on a wild goose chase trying to work out your gains and losses . Lol .

Well the high intake 3 day weekend didn't show as a gain, come Tuesday morning; and I'm not sure why it didn't. Still not seeing the expected w/e rise.
Last Thursday and Friday had showed a drop (as it should have done). Saturday morning showed unchanged (when it also should have showed a drop). Today showed a further drop when I was expected it to again have remained the same.
Overall I think I've been lucky this week unless it zooms up by tomorrow morning. I'm still above the pre-Xmas weight though. (Double checking, that may be unfair. It looks like the weight has been playing up since about mid-November; still presently moving in the right direction.)

Just before Christmas I had my weight down to 11s 8 1/2lbs. That was a loss of more than 3st from when I started in the summer. But with the holidays and various stresses its now up to 11st 12lbs.
I think when you're eating less you want less.I'm back on the diet now and it'll be interesting to see the tale of the scales tomorrow.
I noticed in my local Tesco a box for donations to a food bank. Just recently there have been lots of boxes of biscuits and chocolates in it. That seems as good a way as any to get rid of temptation.

I thought that the idea was to buy extra at the store. I didn't realise folk brought unwise existing purchases from home to pass on.
A dry month wouldn't change much for me. Would be bound to have some effect but given the amount of alcohol I drink I'm unsure It'd be noticeable. Already have a cupboard full of bottles accumulated over time that I've not got around to drinking.

That sounds tricky OG. Maybe you should turn down dessert, but before it's possible to plate it up?
Or, there's always "doctor's orders" :)
Difficult though. It seems to be making you a bit unhappy in the long run though. So maybe explaining that the quantities don't need to be so vast for you, and the dessert isn't always needed - and that the excess is nice for the moment, but doesn't add to your general happiness day to day?
I can only lose the weight I've lost with the help of those around me.
Speaking of which, I have lost 6kg/13lbs since Jan 2nd.
I have two meals out - tonight and Sunday - coming up. So I don't expect it to last for too long!

Well done ed keep,up,the good work .
Sandy hope you show a good result next week . You seem to have yourself in check .
Jenny that's a lot to lose each day . How much do you drink ?
Bed knobs when I put weight on I was still,in my size 14 skirts . But when I lost itI must admit they looked better on.

Thanks Ed. It has been said but there seems to be a difference of opinin between, "Oh my Gawd that's a lot", and, "Are you still hungry ? We didn't have much that's why I got the dessert".
Not that I'm always perfect when on my own. Was already over a couple of minutes ago but was fed up with ignoring the pangs so just eaten a little more :-(
Good for you for losing 13 lbs already this year. Wish I'd managed the same. I've gone down only 0.8 lbs since the 1st, but due to an inexplicable sudden step up, lost 7 lbs since the 3rd.
From where are you losing it bednobs ? Thinner arms & legs maybe ? Must be reducing somewhere.
