Good afternoon everyone!

Last thread can be found here: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Weight-Loss-and-Dieting/Question1468558.html

I'm late again, but not as late as last time!

My weight-loss continues... slowly. Dropped below 90KG for the first time since before Christmas, which is obviously a knife-edge feeling as - while I am happy to be there, I will be slightly put off when I swing back up because of general fluctuations.

Still, these milestones feel good, right?

Last week there was some discussion as to how you can get important people in your life to get on board with your weight-loss (and stop feeding you so much!)

It seems difficult to get others on side, especially if they think "you're fine the way you are". I've always thought things like this could be explained (i.e. it not about what they think, it's what you feel), but not everyone agrees.

I am a bit worried about dipping below the 90, as the temptation for cake increases dramatically - after all, my clothes fit* again!

How do we avoid distraction on the way down? Thoughts very welcome.

Anyway, your turn to share!

All the best,

Ed

Down a few hundred grams, around the 87.7KG mark. Had a big lunch that I will need to run off this evening...

So is your total from last wednesday 0.8lbs down OG? Sounds good to me?
Hi Ed,

If you like cakes try buying or making, if you can, ones for diabetics. They taste good but are much less sinful.
Today at lunch time it got me thinking . I opened a tin of soup and usually have the whole tin but when I was a child over 70 years ago that same tin would be divided between 4 of us and topped up with water or milk if we had spare .also sweets were divided between us once a week .
Also we used to go down to the harbour when the fishing boats came in and we would get what we called a free fry of fish depending on how big there catch was . We only had a fish and chip carry out no Chinese or Indian take away. This used to be the cheapest meal for large families .i am sure some of you will remember other meals that used to be shared into portions compared to the full portions we have today . When I think of some of the meals I have even though they are healthy eating I am sure my mother would have fed all 4 of us with it .now I see where we get the extra lbs from .
Good morning all :-((

It's the naughty step for me! 'Nuf said.
Sorry to be unclear Ed. No I'm was up 0.4 lbs and back up to the higher stone figure again to boot. :-(

By the way, is it February ? ;-)
I couldn't see about 100 ml of soup and a drink of water (or even milk) leaving me feeling satisfied for an afternoon wend. You must be buying rather large tins ;-)

Naughty x. Well it seems I'm there too. Any chance of bringing a cuppa each to keep us going ?
I'm back, just in time to catch the tail end of this February thread. Have I really not posted for a while month?

Life is really busy at the moment and the result is almost half a stone, some of which I gained over Christmas and some of which has crept on since. I always have trouble shaking off the sweet tooth once I've given in to it.

But I am feeling strong again this morning and putting all that behind me.

Is there room for one more on the naughty step?

Thanks OG, I'm in.

And apparently back down to Tuesday's weight ?!?!?
And that was after those 6 squares of chocolate last night (a rare treat).
Og I just have the small, tins but my point was that my mother used to do the tins then to do all of us a family of 4
I remember tins of spaghetti and the Campbell's soup. My mum doled it out to the three of us but we had other things on the table....still I think you're right Wendilla, we eat too much.
That's right xstitcher this is the point I was trying to make that the portions we have now was portions for about 4 when I was young .
I read the article OG and seeing it comes from the Daily Mail already puts it in question, but I think the long and short of it is that if however you are loosing weight works for you, then stick to it.
Rightly or wrongly I believe Michael Mosley a trustworthy reporter though. He seems to suggest a number of things I thought factual are not.

Also I'm not losing very well. One step forward then one back again :-(
Don't loose heart OG
Good advice. That'd be only 11 ozs ;-)
Lol lol lol
hi everyone - not been around for a while - ive beena bit wobbly on the weight loss - i had a week where i put on 1/2 pound, but the rest has been slow but at least coming off. I am now in another stone bracket, and have lost 31 pound altogether. Making myself quite miserable though by realising i have another nearly 2 stone to lose before my BMI shows me as merely overweight :(
