I hope everyone is keeping well. I'm finding I'm eating more healthily during lockdown as I feel I have more time to prepare a healthy lunch for myself at home. I'm not moving as much as I normally would, though. How is everyone else getting on?

It’s when you feel sorry for yourself because of the situation we are all in so you’ll just give yourself a little Poor Me food to reward yourself and add some sparkle to the days that are beginning to get a bit same as......same as.....I think it’s okay to do this but perhaps if we put it into a routine it would be easier to control. I’m going to try that. Any ideas from you?
Interesting article in the 23 May, New Scientist. An investigation into the eating habits of animals suggest they naturally consume the correct ratio of different food types when they have free choice. Which led the investigators to believe that we all have not just the one appetite, but one per food type, and we try to satisfy each. But if the food available is unbalanced, then we eat whatever we need of protein as priority and tolerate either too much or too little of the other food groups as a consequence. It was suggested that the food commonly available to us western humans, these days, and our natural craving for the correct amount of protein, leads us to overeat on carbs and fat etc. in order to get that protein level.
I reckon we should be having a juicy steak every meal then.

Dr. Spock suggested something of the same in his book Baby and Child Care some 50 plus years ago. If I remember correctly he said that if you put a varied buffet out for children eventually they would eat balanced meals. I doubt if that would apply to all, but it would be interesting. I really can’t imagine anybody, let alone a child turning down ice cream for broccoli.
Good morning all,
Hmmmmm, a bit of popcorn here, a mini muffin (or two) there gives a bad reading on the scales down with corona food crimes. Whether you’re in isolation or not it seems that it’s going to bed with us until the vaccine comes along so it’s time to stop corona eating and get back to full normal in that part of my life. Ho hum! As Windella used to say.....you know what to do.....

Wow Mrs Brown give yourself a big pat on the back. I’m going to look at that website. I’m very much in the senior division and just started up my twice weekly Recap training Last week but believe me I can already feel the benefits.
Just a meal tip that I discovered...fry with just a drizzle of olive oil a quarter of a spring green and when done but still crunchy dab with sambol,olek....good with pork.
