Can I Use Soup After Use-By Date?

I have a pot of Sainsbury's Cream of Tomato soup with use-by date 18 November 2020. The instructions say not to use past the date. Seems a waste to throw it away but don't want to get ill. It's been in the fridge. Thanks.

In the fridge, so I assume it’s been opened. Use by date is there for a reason. It’s different to best before. Bin it, it’s only a few shillings.

If you have ever had food poisoning you might want to dump the stuff. Why get seriously ill for the sake of a few pennies.
