slimming world / dieting - getting back on track
4 Answers
Morning,
I have lost 2st using slimming world (without strictly following it, I must add) but at a rate of 1-2lb per week. However for the last 5 weeks or so, I have roughly stayed the same and on some weeks gained 1lb. This is really frustrating as I still have a long way to go!
I've found out my insullin levels dont adjust properly, so my brain often thinks i am hungry when i'm not! Its not diabetes though & i'm not on medication for it.
However, I have just lost the motivation & drive i had when losing 2lbs a week, I could see that my target weigh was getting closer, but now i've fallen off the wagon - although i try to eat semi slimming world, I have been over eating on syns & not counting them/recording a food diary. I just need some motivation to get back on track.
I dont stay to the SW class as I'm not bothered in what everyone else gains/looses - I'd rather be reading up on success stories or planning meal times for the coming week - although with all good intention, I leave after weigh in & then watch TV or something!
Anyway, if you can think of anything that will perk me up or give me some idea for goal setting (reward charts/counting down my success or ideas to simply make me stick to SW strictly!), please let me know!
Thank you xxx

It is important to get to and maintain your ideal weight, but equally important to feel healthy and energised and not feel hungry or deprived. The key to losing weight is to maintain a constant blood sugar level and speed up the metabolism. This will sort out your insulin levels immediately. Try a low GL eating plan, cut out refined sugar and carbs, instead have brown rice/bread/pasta, eaten with some good protein, lean chicken or fish or tofu or quinoa and the other half of your plate is veg (not potatoes) or salad. Have wholegrains for breakfast, porridge or muesli. Fruit snack mid morning. Lunch of pitta sandwich or tuna salad something healthful and then fruit snack and handful of seeds or nuts in the afternoon. Dinner as I described above. Cut out coffee, tea and alcohol and have 6-8 glasses water per day. Lots of beans, pulses, nuts and seeds, fruit and veg. I adopted this way of eating whilst studying my nutrition diploma and lost weight, as did my husband and it does make you feel better. If you need more info let me know. Amara xx
Try going back to writing it all down again, also maybe more green days, try to vary your diet it is easy to find a food with no or little sins and eat loads of that instead of being adventurous. S/w have good recipe books with great sin free recipes. Then save the money you would have spend on sinful foods to get yourself a treat when you have lost wieght that week, like make-up, nice underwear, magazine, manicure, massage etc. Good luck!
