i admit i do eat like a pig at times, and today my tummy is as flat as a pancake, laxatives are brilliant when you over indulge in them.....
oh good grief suzie do not use laxatives as an aid to weight loss please, they will only cause you other damage. If you have been diagnosed IBS then bloating can be an issue, ask your GP
IBS and you are taking laxatives?

Are you mad?

There is a simple way to lose weight, but it takes will power:

Eat less, move more

gp gave me mebeverine, they are useless as is the gp...im fed up and this is the last resort, next it will be suicide, i try excersing, im not fat at all, its just my tummy gets bloated all the time due to the ibs........................will try the gp again monday (joking abput the suicide bit)dont panic
cut out white bread or any other yeast or wheat based products, the bloating should go in a week or so. Drink lots and lots of water.
I have IBS and must admit mbeverine are useless with regards to the bloating although they are very good at controlling bowel movements.
I found Actimel does it for me......
I used to have same problem (I'm La Diva's daughter, btw). My bloating was not to do with how much I was eating, but what I was eating. So... try cutting out allergenic foods.

Eg drink pineapple juice, not orange juice. Eat kiwis not oranges. Eat green bananas not overly-ripe black bananas. Eat brown rice (with a little oil on it) not bread. Drink a milk-substitute (I'm ok with soya milk) and cut out milk. Cut out tomatoes and replace them with other veggies and fruits.

NB. I'm not a qualified nutritionist, so do be sensible. If you are going to cut out foods from your diet, make sure you have plenty of good stuff to balance it out. Eg the calcium from milk can be replaced with lots of healthy fresh greens. Etc.

I found my bloating was an "allergy" problem, not a piggy problem! I say allergy in quotes because some doctors don't believe in allergies. However, Professor Bostroff has written an excellent book on intolerances and it was his book on allergic reactions that helped me.

Bon apetit! :)
This link is some sort of FAQ for Answerbank showing what to do if you have a very bloated tummy.

you wont be saying laxatives are brilliant when you damage your colon, cut out the junk food and go for some nice bracing walks. pointless telling you about keep fit classes when you have no motivation.
