A Question For An Accountant Or Somebody Who Works In An Accounts Office
3 Answers
I have posted this question in the Business and Finance section as i was not sure which category to put it in.
My son has been studying at night school on various different courses (accounts), he has just passed Sage level 1, when looking on job vacancy websites, employers requirements say they want 'Sage line 50'
Does anyone now if Sage Line 50 is the same as Sage Level 1 and do you think it is worth him taking the Sage level 2 course which starts soon
many thanks

Hi BB, roj is correct but I'll defend someone a little bit in that Sage Line 50 is the old name for the accounts software (they also had Sage Line 100) and it is now called Sage 50 Accounts so the 'Line' might have confused people (and is actually one of the reasons they changed it!)

Level 1 refers to the course (i.e. it's the first level of study and qualification).
Line 50 is the name of an accounting package produced by Sage. As it's the most popular in the range, one would assume that it's the package used in the course, and one would expect anyone completing the course to know that.

Hi Johne1892
Thanks very much for clearing that up for me, my son's night school course was called Sage Level 1, when he recently got his certificate it does not have the word Sage on it anywhere, it just says he has passed computerised accounts level 1 and wasn't sure if this is the qualification employers require.
thanks again
