Recorded delivery .. is this right ?

I recently sent a letter of complaint to Barclaycard, sending it Recorded Delivery as I wanted to ensure it was signed for and I had proof of receipt. That was 5 weeks back, so as I had not received any reply of acknowledgement I called Barclaycard to find out if they'd received it. According to them no letters had been received by them from me. As I had the postal receipt I called the Post Office tracking system to check on the delivery & who'd signed for it. The Post Office confirms it was delivered at 7.45am on 3rd May and it was signed for but the signature is unreadable, the printed name is BARCLAY !!! As you can imagine when I called Barclaycard back to ask who Barclay is, they said there is nobody of that name there. Basically whoever signed for it signed under the Company name. Where do I stand here, is there anything can be done. Surely it is illegal or fraud to sign for a document without using your real name, surely Barclaycard being such a big company should have a policy that the employees use their real name when signing for a document, as what proof is there and the Recorded delivery basically is useless in this instance. I now have to start all over again, re-send the letter and wait a reply. Who's to say it won't happen again? Any ideas and who should I take this matter up with, as I think this is so wrong that people (a big company especially) should get away with this. Is this fraud or something similar? I'm not 100% sure on this (legally) but if you sent it recorded delivery and it was delivered and signed for its barclays problem to sort out who signed for it and what they did with it.

they are a large co, all and sundry won't be signing for post, it wil be someone in the post room or on reception.

I expect they think that if they stall you, you'll give up - tell them you have proof of delivery and its their problem to sort it.

Thank you mccfluff... I'll give them another call tmrw & fwd copy of proof of delivery, let them sort it. I ain't going to give up easily.
