Asking on behalf of a friend. What would be the holiday entitlement of someone working 16 hrs a week? Also would they be entitled to any paid sick leave?
Person is single mum to a young girl and starting work this week.
Thank you.

Not sure on the holiday entitlement but as for sick pay you find these days hardly any employer will pay sick pay other than ssp.
But all this she can ask her boss?
Is she planning on taking sick leave already?

LOL, no. Just wondering what her entitlements were. She has been messed about a lot with the benefits people as she has been working a few hours a week and has had to juggle child care about a lot. She has now managed to secure 16 hrs a week and can now sign off. Just wondering about entitlements thats all.
It's my understanding that 16hrs a week get treated the same way as 'full-time' but they keep hanging the law so I'm now not 100% certain.
Her entitlements should be laid out in her contract. paid sick leave is up to the company, some have company pay and some only offer statutory sick pay.
Our company sick pay doesn't begin until you have been employed for 6 months.

Her enitlement will be 16 hours multiplied by how many weeks the employer offers.
