between Consultant and GP. If the Consultant writes to, or possibly emails the GP and requests the patient be referred to a different department, and in the meantime is put forward for an MRI, but the GP says no, I don't think we're ready for that yet, I shall refer you to Fall Clinic first. That's bad form, isn't it?
Consultant went mad, incidentally, when Community Nurse reported back.

" to Fall Clinic first.".....never heard of it.

The GP is the "leader of the Orchestra" and the Consultant is only for his ( the Consultant's) opinion.

The GP need not accept the opinion of the Consultant, but 99 times out of 100, the GP does and the Consultant takes over the case.

Yes, in my opinion your GP is showing......."bad form."

Thanks Sqad. I have a vision of The Fall Clinic being full of 80 + 90 year olds being taught how to use a zimmer, etc, but I have since found out that it will open many doors for me...occ therapists will come to my home + see what they can offer like grab rails, etc., and whether I need a pendant alarm etc...
