Why do people working in hospitailty and tourism organisations require good change management skills?

I guess it's because they are catering for ever changing customer tastes. You probably need change management skills in any profession these days. In an ever more competitive world it is more and more necessary to keep one step ahead of the competition in order to survive and thrive. Change used to be seen as a punctuation to the status quo where an organisation decided on how it would change, would unfreeze the organisation, make the change and settle into the new working practices. Nowadays change is seen as a continuous process of an ever evolving organisation where there is no status quo.
