Poor Definition On Laptop

The definition on the screen is getting worse with blured text.  It is quite an old Dell.  Has it had it or can I do anything about it?  I'm not Tech savvy so keep it as simple as possible

Try pressing and holding the Windows , Ctrl, shift keys down at the same time and then press the B key.

That resets the video drivers.

Have you double checked that you've not picked up the wrong glasses?

Maybe an update of the graphics driver is required. Google it for your specific machine, and try moving your screen definition up a notch.

If the reset doesn't work, maybe there's a way to connect or cast to an external monitor ?

 

(Obviously, worse comes to worst you can get the repair shop to look at it.)

I assume this is a Windows 10 machine

Open the Device Manager by typing "device manager" in the taskbar search box (bottom left of screen)

Select Display adapters 

Right-click on your graphics card 

Select Properties 

Navigate to the Driver tab 

Click Update Driver 

Select Search automatically for updated driver software 

It should only take a couple of minutes

I don't wear glasses,

To 

update a graphics driver in Windows 7, you can use the Device Manager to search for an updated driver or download one from the manufacturer's website: 

Open the Device Manager 

Click Display adapters 

Right-click on the graphics card 

Select Properties 

Go to the Driver tab 

Select Update Driver 

Click Search automatically for drivers 

If Windows finds an update, install it 

If Windows doesn't find an update, you can search for one on the manufacturer's website
