Does anyone know what the going rate is for a good piano tutor in London? Either to come to my house, or to go to theirs for a weekly hour lesson? I was thinking between 20-30/hr but just wondered if anyone could confirm?

Thanks a lot.

i would look in your local telephone directory for people who are already advertising as tutors, and posing as a potential customer, ask what their rates are. that way you not only get an idea of the level of competition in your area, but what the going rate is.
very good answer..and why is it in business section????
Alternatively, you could try learning at home. Sounds daft, but my son wanted to learn the piano and our local teachers were expensive and miles away! He bought an online training package called Rocket Piano (www.learnpianotoday.info) and although I was initially skeptical, he has learned theory and technique and is now really good!
