how do i convince my parents to let me buy halo

i need help to get my parents to let me buy halo. im 11 but my parents think that just cause its M i cant get it. they let me get jaws unleashed for ps2. but they just think im going to go around being more violent. also i get strait A 's and im on track team and never gotten in trouble at school. so please give me some tips on how to get my parents to let me buy halo. also i make my own money from mowing are neighbors lawns.so i can pay for it.

Unfortunately, I'm on your parents side, karatepro. There are two points here - theirs, and yours. You seem a bright enough person, but, no offence to you, not yet mature enough to understand their refusal.
My eldest son'll soon be your age, and I wouldn't let him have it either.
Spoilsport? Maybe - but when you're older, you'll be appreciative of their objections hun.

Aw! How old are you supposed to be to play it? Can you maybe find a good substitute in the meantime?
You seem like a very mature boy, and rest assured your parents are only doing what's best for you, even if you find it frustrating. Do your friends play it? Is it just that you want to be "the one that's got Halo" or something?
If they say no, and you are underage to buy it yourself, just resign yourself to the fact....and go play football in the park with all those mates of yours who can't buy it either!

PS: I don't know what Halo is, but I'm guessing it's a pretty violent console game?

It must be annoying when you cannot buy when you've set your eyes on something that you really like.
But, some computer games are rated this way,because of what is actually involved in the content of the game.
So,I have to agree with what Ice maiden and max has just mentioned.

Karatepro - you should have been in bed an hour and a half ago - 11.30pm is far too late for an 11 year old to be up and on the computer. And by the way, I agree with your parents on the video game.

It is, Max. I've seen worse, but I wouldn't encourage my kids to play it. I can imagine karatepro's disappointment though, particularly if friends are talking about it. nothing seems fair does it, when you're at the stage of still being a child - yet almost a young adult.

i put this question on at 6:00 today not 11:30. but yeh most of my friends play it. it doesnt seem that violent to me. i watched gameplay on youtube.it also doesnt have any human blood at all. unless you shoot one of your teamates.

My daughter has played all three halos, starting when she was 10 with the original. I cant see any reason to worry about it, its not particularly violent

Halo isn't that violent, I could understand them objecting to GTA IV or man hunt. My son plays Halo and he is only 9 years old. There are far more violet games and films about.

I believe as long as you know it�s not real then it won't affect you negatively. Unfortunately there are some individuals who can't see the difference.

Your parents most likely have never played video games so can't make a judgment themselves. Because of this they have no choice but to follow any guidance shown on the game cover.

They don't understand that children and adults are more desensitized to violence now than when they were children. This is evident when you look at films like terminator. When it was release it was an 18, but now it would struggle to achieve a 15. T2 was only a 15

I recommend showing them a video clip from U tube and make them watch it.

tell them loads of your your friends have it and you will play it at their house if u cant buy it. it worked for my brother when he wanted to get gta and he was 14

It's just shooting aliens, harmless fun. However if you have xbox live you may want to turn the sound off. Quite a lot of morons on there shouting insults. But its definitely not an overly violent game.

I too, am a gamer, I wouldn't go for the game myself, but I dont see why, as it is not like if you play one game as say, for example, medal of honor, you arent going to go around shooting people are you. as long as you show your parents your responsible, and a non violent person, you should be fine

To be honest , i dont think you should be playing those sort of games at 11 years old, im 13 but play 15s , sometimes 16s, halo contains alot of blood and gore, and swearing. I dont think your missing out on much its not the best of games. wait a few years and your parents will ease up
