I am on State Pension+Pension Credit.I get housing and C/T benefits.Plus high rate mobility allowance.
I have just been told that one cannot have anyone staying eg:
My daughter and son-in-law coming for a holiday.
Does anyone know more about this,please?

Yes we were amazed and it took ages before she dare spend any of it because she kept thinking they were going to say they had made a mistake but it is 2 years ago now so it must have been correct. It is called something like severe disablement benefit and she gets it on top of the attendance allowance
how would they ever know? dont worry about it..

Hi maclarencat.
I don`t get attendance allowance,just low care and high mobility.
Have been on the phone to Ageuk,re: the leaflets you gave me the link too.
Apparently if my son were to move in with me and because he has no disabilities,I would no longer be classed as "living alone",I will lose £55.30 of my Pension Credit per week but still get full HB/CT benefits.

Now if he was to declared just as a non-dependant living with me,he would have to contribute less than £55.30 per wk in accordance with his income..so it is really a no-win situation.
I asked if we could do it this way but was told,it was not an option with my receiving PC.

So they give in one hand and take out of the other!!!!
