Hi.. Just wondering what path to take regarding this...
I had my bank acc, hotmail, paypal hacked and had various monies taken from bank which i am now waiting to be refunded.. I thought this had all been resolved then got a letter through the post from welcome loans stating a fee for £69 will be taken from bank in regards to a loan made in my name.. Ive looked up the website and called the number in the hope to talk to an advisor.. No advisors, just a message to say to email them which i then done stating i didnt make any such claim, i recieved an email back saying i have to write to cancel??!! I know it sounds tight but why should i waste my time and 60p on a stamp when i didnt make the claim... Also if the only way to make an application for a loan is via the internet can it not then be traced to whom by ip address? I wish to make a complaint but dont know who i would go to? Ive got a proper bee in my bonnet about this especially after having my bank near on emptied aswell.. grrrrrrr
If Welcome Loans can take money from your bank account, then surely there must be a direct debit set up on your account to permit this. Cancel the direct debit.
Surely it is worth 60p and ten mins writing a letter? It will be a whole lot easier to that than trying to sort it out once a loan has been set up in your name.
I seriously doubt that they will go to the trouble of tracing the IP address of whoever made the application.
