I was bankrupt in 2007, discharged in Nov 2007. I have a credit report from Callcredit which is showing as having 2 seperate ostg original default balances with Lloyds. This should have been cleared off with my bankruptcy so why are there still balances and what needs to happen to make these zero balances?

Also is it right that after say 6 years all previous cr cards/loans/debts showing on your report will not show anymore?
Many thanks.

1. The debts which were included in yuor bankruptcy should have been written off when you were discharged. This does not necessarly mean they would disappear from your credit record, but they should show zero balance & probably the reason i.e. bankruptcy. You need to take this up with Lloyds in writing (keep a copy). Send them proof of your bankruptcy & the discharge & a copy of the credit record entries you want corrected. If they don't act quickly send a formal complaint letter & also write to the credit ref. agency to ask for a notice of correction to be put on your file.

2. All debts should drop off your credit record after 6 years. This includes the record of your bankruptcy.
