Hi
My son who is in Thailand at the moment had his bank debit card stolen and although he has informed the bank and had it cancelled they say that it will take 10 working days to issue a replacement card.
Meanwhile he cannot access his money so can you advise me as to the cheapest and secure method to send him some cash.

As long as he has his passport then Moneygram via the Post Office is a good way. You can check in your local Post Office (or online) where your sons nearest Moneygram office is. It only takes 10 minutes to get there and your son will have cash in his hand. You can also send a question which the person collecting the money will have to answer correctly. You could ask...

Use either moneygram (post office) or western union money transfer (local newsagents, paypoints) and it'll be there same day. you can send £100-200 for £10 or less.
have you spoken to him yourself though as there's a lot of scams doing the rounds at the moment via e-mail/texts supposedly from friends & family in trouble abroad.
