Error with balance transfer
5 Answers
Help! I duplicated a balance transfer doing it on line to take advantage of a 0% interest offer, by stupidly pressing refresh by mistake trying to get back to a previous page. I realised what had happened and immediately rang to cancel it. I was told that could not be done and that all I could do was ask the other card to refund the credit showing because of the duplicate transfer, when it appeared , to my bank account. However because I also had some balance already on the card previous to the transfer, the credit showing is not as much as the transfer plus fee was. It seems that I am going to lose out here because what ever happens eventually, nothing will get back the second fee charged. Is there any thing stopping me from simply using the card with the credit on to make a payment back to the one with two transfers on it and write off the fee as penalty for being stupid! I bet no-one follows this and I dont get a reply but thanks anyway!!

If the card with the credit balance has facility to make a transfer out of it, I cannot see why not, check that there is not a charge for transfers (some cards do have one). The easiest way may be just to use the card to spend the money and use the money you would have spent to pay to the ist card.
Thanks for reading it twice! I need to get the money straight back off the card with two transfers on it because even with the 0% interest, it would be too large a monthly payment for me. I wasnt going to transfer it back as such but simply make a large payment on the next statement when it arrives but wasnt sure if you can use one credit card to make a monthly payment on another one!
