Esa Calculation
3 Answers
I received a letter from DWP today which told me that my ESA is now ended as I have had my maximum 365 days.
I went into the Direct Gov site and input my information to see if I would be entitled to the income based amount. Not only am I entitled but I am to receive more that I have lost due to the ESA ending.
I assume that I have made a mistake. Can anybody direct me to a place where I can find out how to actually calculate my entitlement - (Income Support was made up of premiums and allowances etc) so that I can calculate myself.
I have an occupational pension - is this fully taken into account or is their a disregard?

I tried calculating how trying to work out if I would possibly be entitled to the Income based ESA. I have my occupational pension and an income from an insurance company each month - my ESA/IB was adjusted to take the occ pension into account.
I know how to calculate Income Support - much simpler benefit ;-) But I want to know how the full benefit entitlement before any income is taken into account (Applicable Amount).
If I did claim it would I need a further med cert (or whatever) from my doctor? I have been on IB/ESA since 2004.
