Money Trapped In Paypal Account

When I was residing in the UK, I had UK paypal and ebay accounts. When moved abroad I closed down the bank account associated with the paypal account, then later from Germany I sold something on ebay and the money was transferred to the paypal account, but because the Nationwide account no longer exists I cannot retrieve the money.
As you can only have accounts in your country of residence I have now opened here new accounts for paypal and ebay using different email addresses and passwords - because when I first attempted this I stupidly used the previous ones and the whole thing being is so sticky, became useless.
What would be the best way to now proceed to (a) retrieve the money and (b) close down the UK accounts, without jeopardising my accounts here please.

I'd send an email to PayPal (telling them what you have told us here) and ask for their advice as to how to sort it out.

I haven't seen how you can send an email, their site seems to be all FAQ's

Do you know anyone else that you could send money to and then they give you the money?
