Hello.
Anyone know what the legal position is with extra charges when making a payment with a debit card? I know there is generally a charge for using a credit card, but didn't think it applied to debit cards? A £3 charge just for making a payment is robbery.........................

It was the credit company Curry's use after a w/machine and cooker was bought from them. Made an online balance payment and got charged £3 for it.

I thought the Government were going to stop this?

Could it have been a finance charge rather than a debit card charge?
I bought a fridge and a freezer from Currys just before Christmas and used my credit card (online), I didn't get charged any extra at all.
