When I was quite young I played card games with my neighbours - mother and daughter - I may have been 10-14 years old - we played for 2p. But I recall I loved it - can't remember some of the names of the card games but they weren't snap - however since there was a post of retirement things to do posting on at the moment - this was one hobby I would have liked to have been involved in (again not gambling) just for fun. I have no idea where to start cos I would need to learn again but just to keep the brain ticking over.

Have been to these old ladies clubs and they don't do it for me - went there last week and and was glad to get home. Don't get me wrong - bit of bingo (i can't hear it) line dancing and chanters(singers) and great organ music but still (I've been there done and that for years) and stopped a few years ago.

Anybody point me to anything representing card games for fun. Thank you.

Thanks Baldric - haven't fully looked at your link but am actually wanting to mingle with people and not online.

There were a set of ladies who played card games in their own houses varying house to house (but to due to sickness etc - that has stopped) - as I say I want to get out. Thanks

I would need to learn the card games and as I say don't where to start here in Belfast.
I think it is more of an instructions for the game site.

Beats my thought of buying a paperback. I have one of those on card games somewhere, not sure where.

Right Old Geezer - I think I may scout around a few clubs and find out if they have card-playing nights - that'll probably take time at the rate I am going.

Thud!!!!!!!!!!
As I young girl, I remember such games as "Old Maid" and "Strip Jack Naked" (nothing to do with taking off any clothes !)
Can someone go round and check Baldric is okay?
Is there a bridge club near you?
Can you go on a cruise? They often have bridge and other card game meet-ups.
Moping his brow, FF....he'll be fine.....x

Thanks FF, bit of an "I don't believe it" bump coming up, otherwise no problem!

Yeah - maybe bridge would be good to look at - probably more clubs as well.

Sorry Baldric - hope you didn't hurt your head too badly LOL
