Warning - Lottery Ticket Pay-Out
30 Answers
I have just had a rather unpleasant experience in my local supermarket and thwish to warn others to always, always check their lottery tickets.
I buy an eight-week lottery ticket, one line on Wednesdays and one line on Saturdays, for £32.00. During the past eight weeks, l have been lucky enough to win two £25.00 prizes and one free ticket for matching two numbers. I went back to the supermarket (a branch of a well known countrywide chain) this morning to pick up my £50.00 and free ticket.
I may be old and white-haired but l am not stupid.
The girl on the lottery till told me that l had won just the one free ticket and no money. I told her that l had checked and knew that l had won £50.00. She reiterated that l had won just a free ticket. So l asked for my ticket back (she had put it in a drawer under the counter) and she then reluctantly got the ticket out again and checked it. She apologised, gave me my £50.00 and said that she hadn't noticed.
I wonder how many times this sort of thing happens? A nice little earner for a crook and the till would balance at the end of the day. Please check your tickets.

I have proof, even if it is stolen or lost, if it should ever win the big prize. Here's hoping!
I am really really sorry DSJ someone spotted a white haired old *** and thought - "great here's another demented sucker to take to the cleaners"
