but it is the debtor
BC has given good advice on this previously - like a few years ago
and there is mention of a letetr of dissociation

however if you read it
it becomes clear you dont need one
letters to addresses of fled tenants who fled in debt - often in debt to me as well - often get opened by children who mill around in their hundreds
and that allows me as a landlord to read them and write to the companies
and tell them the debtor has flown and a new tenant - usually of a nervous disposition (!) is IN
If they come calling - I think you have ( since the address has been given as a residential address ) to prove you are nt them. I dont think it is a duty it just makes life easier for you. If it is a girl - I think you can say - I am obviously not her.
Make sure CT utilities and electoral rolls do not mention the party ( or show a date of leaving )
as you can see - much easier to say I am not in debt
than ..... the debtor who lived here has gone....
good luck - debt is a pain in the arras - but at least you can say 'well it is not me!"
