Voting Card Not Arrived

Nobody in my household or work has received a voting card yet for tomorrow. I just read on Twitter that Royal Mail has lost a large batch of postal votes that were meant for Plymouth voters. Could they have lost a load of voting cards as well? I'm in SW, but not Plymouth.
Has anyone else here not received theirs?
I know I don't usually need to take it with me to vote, but I'm a bit worried about the security implications. Someone could have intercepted the cards and attempt to portray me and others tomorrow.

Get in early if you can Cj, then you'll be ticked of on the list and no-one else can use your vote.

Clover you can contact your elections office for a replacement.

You will need the Returning Officer for a replacement. You can of course turn up without a poll card but if you have not been issued with a number in the first place will not be able to vote without it. As Baldric advises if someone has purloined your card and turns up with it before you they may have used your vote. The poll clerks and presiding officer at the poll station should though be checking that the poll cards presented are being presented by the rightful voter.

I have never yet us d my vo I got card. I just stroll in and they take my name and address.

Ahh Cassa but if it was delivered to the wrong address or stolen, and someone used it to vote in your name before you arrived you wouldn't be able to.

I'm always amazed that you can just stroll in, give your name and vote. You could give anyone's name if you know their address - I think you should have to show your poll card or some ID

Did you know Goalie that anonymous voters have a voting card with no name or address on it and must have it with them to vote. The poll station staff cannot ask for their names or addresses.

no you dont ! you just turn up and say you wanna vote !

It has to be the right polling station and I cant recollect if the wrong one will tell you where the right one for you is [I think so] or you have to do the rounds.

I took my passport and they took time off to say Oh you dont need that to vote - we want as many as possible and not to put up barriers ( jesus you cant be full time civil servants I said)

Your name is ticked off see above and no one else can vote....

I am always asked my name and address and conclude that if I wanna vote ( privately, secretly ) then I have to say who I am and where I live as part of the deal

(Never understood the witness in court bit where the witness comes in with a brown paper bag on their head - our local CI ( confidential informant) was identified by voice - and her name is ........uuuugh)

Peter P when, a few years ago, my polling station was moved, and I had a brainstorm and went to the old one, I can confirm that they had some way of knowing, by my address, where I should have gone and sent me off in the right direction. This was local of course. If I had nipped down to Cornwall from Yorkshire then they may not have been able to help.

Yep, anonymous voters, proxy voters too. PP we know that you can vote without your card..... we were saying that if you think it has gone missing that it CAN be replaced or Clover needs to get their sharpish to beat a potential vote thief.

As it turned out, I do have my voting card. It was in a pile of other papers. Doh!

I'm still bothered about the lack of security, though. Anyone could go in and say they were anyone else even without the card, if they know their address.
