(1) It's a good idea to order your credit file from Experian and/or Equifax. In a worst possible scenario, it's not impossible that someone else has used your address for something fraudulent which may make it difficult to obtain credit. However, if this is not the case & you are on the voter's roll, some things to bear in mind are (2) are you in regular employment? The longer you have been in regular work the better your chances. (3) How long have you been at your current address? The longer you've been at one address, the better too! (4) If Capital One have not increased your credit limit, it's likely to be you're paying off your credit card consistently or you're not using it at all. Basically, there's no point (or profit for them) unless you You can almost guarantee that your limit will be increased if you use it without paying it off in full every month. However, they review this every few months & you cannot actually request a limit. They will let you know when they're ready to give one to you. Hope this helps.

Uzoma,I am in regular employment,I have checked my credit report recently there is nothing suspicious its not that I am interested in getting a credit card but I am curious why? & I am using my capital one I used to pay in full but not anymore.

Arshad,

Everytime you apply for credit it leaves what is known as a "foot print" on your credit file. In other words, the more credit searches you go through especially in a short period of time, the LESS likely lenders are to grant you credit.
