My coworker is leaving her job soon so we decided to have a muck about and take a couple of selfies of us both on my phone. One photo didn't turn out very well and she hated it. I told her I'd delete it if she felt better about it, but really I retrieved it and kept it on my phone. However, I was showing her other photos on my phone and the picture she hated came next. She nearly killed me and accused me of lying, saying I told her I'd deleted etc and I said I forgot to delete properly and is caller me a liar. Now she's all moody with me. Surely I can have whatever I want on my own phone?
I texted her I was sorry if I've hurt her feelings and that it wasn't my intention, but she hasn't replied.

she called you a liar because you did lie, and then compounded the lie by lying again!

of course you can have whatever you want on your phone, but if you lie about it and get found out, expect people to be grumpy

Yes you can have whatever you want on your phone but don't lie about it.

By the way how old are you?

You can have what you want on your phone but you agreed to delete it you did not. I see why she is "moody" with you, clearly you are not honourable.

Well, you did lie to her.  I wouldn't keep a picture if it caused someone upset.   Would you like someone to keep a horrible picture of you if you'd asked them to delete it?

Question Author

I guess not, Tora 🤔

You can have what you like but you will know that lying is usually wrong and your co-worker has every right to feel bad about you. But you know this anyway.

Question Author

At least I apologised.

Why would you keep a horrible photo which someone asked you to delete anyway? Weird behaviour in itself, and you surely can't be suprised she is mad at you for being devious and blatantly lying to her.

"Least" being the operative word.

apologies mean nothing after a blatant lie but then you followed it up with another lie.

Grow up

Have you deleted it?

I'm quite sure she didn't nearly kill you.

Of course she is upset, you lied to her and tried to make excuses. Just delete the photo

Question Author

She's insecure about her looks, but so am I, but I don't over-react like this.  To me, it's a throw away issue.

Question Author

Yes, the photo is now gone, but I'm being sent to Coventry.

It seems honesty is thrown away, too

Question Author

Seems forgiveness has too, barry.

It might be a throw away issue to you,  but you lied to her.

Lies are not easy to forgive.

Why should she forgive you, you lied to her twice!!
