Mortgage shortfall claim rejected, next step?
Last december I made a complaint regarding my projected mortgage shortfall. Today I received a letter of rejection of my claim. The agent stated that they only had records for the last 6 years, I have had this policy for 12 years. They claim that they have no evidence that I was informed that the return would pay the outstanding loan amount. If they only have record for 6 years then that is obvious. Would I have agreed to a mortgage that may not pay off the loan. They consider the matter closed and my only recourse is to the Ombudsman. Is this a standard fob off and what should I do next? Any advice from those who have been in a similar position. Thanks.
