Have you got any advice about buying a second home in Skye and then leasing it out as a holiday cottage?

To buy a house in Skye it would be best to contact local estate agents in the area. To advertise it and rent it out as a holiday home you can post it on several web sites, for a small fee. The Internet Guide to Scotland (www.scotland-info.co.uk) recommends accomodation in the islands so it maybe a good idea to contact them. Otherwise some other good sites you can contact to rent the property include: http://www.holiday-home.ch, http://www.houseweb.co.uk/ad/holiday.html, http://www.vacanca.com, http://www.firstconcept.co.uk/hol/admin. Also, http://www.holidayhome.co.uk offers tips on preparing your home for rental - its a bit out of date however, and hasn't been updated since December 2000. Hope that helps a bit.
