That really is a difficult post to read. How I read it is that you rented your house out and 2 months later, you come home from holiday and find the council have taken you to court and slapped a bankruptcy order on you?

I dont think so.
what are they taking you to court for? Council tax? If thats so, youd have had a lot more notice of their intention to sue.
Its hard to make out exactly what you are talking about. Is this a house you own and have let? And you assumed that you had notified the council of a new occupant as you had rented the property out for 3 years.
