the bank have closed my account! how/where can i get another one quickly so i can pay my wage into it

Take photo id to any bank or building society and see if they will open an account for you. Don't forget the post office as well.

Once you have solved the immediate problem, you can spend time researching the different accounts.

Your bank should have given you notice.

the bank tried to contact me on my old mobile number, even though they had my new number, work number and my wife's number to cantact us by. They also didn't send written notification either.

try opening a Halifax..Cash card account...if it's not immediate...u may have to cash your cheque via a Cheque cashing store....Or tell you employers to pay your wages into you wife's account (on 2nd thoughts...)while you wait for you new one to open...Good luck
