Can you cash a cheque at a bank if it's written out to you & you have ID?

You have to pay it into your bank account and wait a few days for it to clear.

If you are willing to pay a fee, there are plenty of cheque cashing businesses around.

Thanks, I was wondering if one can get around the 'putting it through the bank account' method, but without losing 6% on the 'Cash Converters' option. Obviously not. Ho hum.
