Is it possible to run own business from home and have a baby?
3 Answers
My husband and I have been married 6 years. I'm 31 and he is 29. I would like a baby but we have debts that arent a problem as were both working full time. I run a business from home. My husband doesnt want a baby while we have debts and is worried that if we have a baby I wont be able to work as much as I do and not be able to clear the debts as quickly as were trying to do now. As I'm 31, and my husband thinks we will clear the debts in 2 years, I'm worried that at 33 and if there are complications (ie. it takes some a number of years of trying), I might not be able to have children! I dont think I can wait 2 years :( What do you think? Also, is it possible to have a baby and run a business from home? What problems do you foresee?

It is possible but it is tiring!
I have a 2 year old. I worked right up until i gave birth and was back 2 weeks later. I work from home via a VoIP link to head office. I have my son with me all day every day apart from 2 days when i work in head office and my mum babysits.
Its not easy but it is manageable, but it helps if baby is in good routine and lets you sleep fairly well at night too.
I had him at 33 and found out Thursday that Im expecting again so i will be 35 when this one arrives.
Im not sure how i will cope with 2 and a fulltime job but I will give it my best shot
If your husband doesnt want a child yet then please wait until you have discussed all the options. Good luck xx.

loisgriffin - Believe me - you have the PERFECT set-up for starting a family (the extra income from your own business, plus being at home with your child). I had my last baby a month before my 43rd birthday (my first at 41) - fab pregnancies, straight forward natural births - and wouldn't go OUT to work, or swap my life for the world. As for the debts - most people ALWAYS have them. I think your hubby's making excuses - probs afraid of the massive life changes - but go for it. It certainly CAN be done! Good luck.
