credit history/data protection
4 Answers
Hi I seem to recall that i read somewhere that unless you have ticked the box giving them permission to share your data with other organiations, organisations including banks and credit cards etc cannot disclose info about you to anyone including credit reference agencies even though it is there poliy to do so. I saw a sample letter somewhere that you could send telling hem you didn't want info shared and that they should remove anything they have posted about therefore improving your credit rating. Wonder if anyone else has seen this also and can remindme where it is.

Credit providers (the banks, catalogues, credit card companies etc) have an agreement with the Credit Reference Agencies that the data they provide on a monthly basis about your payment status, credit limit, defaults etc will be 100% accurate.
This is not a position you're ever going to be able to negotiate I'm afraid.
