I may be receiving an inheritance from a relative who resided in a different country, where there is currently no inheritance or estate tax. Does this mean that if the funds tranfer to the United States that I will have to pay an inheritance tax on those funds?

I didn't think there was any inheritance tax in the USA - OK in theory for the super rich, but not in practice.

But ICBW. Asking the question on a UK board is unlikely to get expert answers.....
