child tax credits
4 Answers
How long did it take for you to get the money paid in the bank after submitting a new claim for tax credits? It has been over 2 weeks since I sent mine back and I haven't heard anything yet. Also at the time of filling out the form my hubby was employed and 5 days later he then got made redundant and is now working for himself so the figures I gave them for the present day may now be wrong. Do I need to inform them immediately or will that be taken into consideration next year because they seemed more interested in last tax years earnings than the present day?

I missed something off my form once, which delayed my payment. When I rang to ask for it to be hurried through, the lady was very nice and said, There's no worries, as you always notify us of any changes"
So it may well stand in your favour in the future!
As for the time, i think it could be up to a month before your first payment. :(

I would have informed them straight away but things are still up in the air with my hubbys job as we are unsure how long he will stay self employed. Will it matter if I let them know in a few weeks cos I will know then exactly what will be happening in the job situation, I just didn't want to ring them once then few weeks later it all changes and have to ring again.
