credit rating

Hi.
Just wanted to know if my credit rating will be a lot better if I have had to defaults removed off my report?
I did not know they were on untill I got a copy of my credit report. I rang Vodafone (the offending company) and they said they would remove them as they should not have been on. Fair enough I was late paying but they removed them coz they shouldnt have been on.It has affected me getting a mortgage, I had to go to a mortgage company with a higher rate due to the fact I had 2 defaults on my report. Can I do anything about the fact I had to get a rip off mortgage????

They are not, as you freely admit you didn't pay till the debt collectors were mentioned. I would be very very surprised if vodaphone do remove them. About getting a rip off mortgage -you should have thought about it before you refused to pay money you owed. the mortgagre company want an easy life - they dont really want to take on people who they are going to have to chase for money i guess.
In my opinion, you get what you deserve in this life, and if you had paid your debts when you should have you wouldnt be in this predicament.
However, i am not an expert, and if they are removed off your credit file, the only thing you can do is try and remortgage at a lower rate

bednobs.... they told me I had 2 defaults for one account, 1 of them was not even a default notice thats why it got removed. the other was a default notice but i paid it over 3 months now if you arrange a plan and keep to it which i did then you are not in default, you get marked as a pay plan.
I must admit I was a silly child at the time, HAVE YOU NEVER MADE ANY MISTAKES IN YOUR LIFE.

of course i have - 100's
unfortunately, some mistakes can have consequences whe you are old and wise even if they were made when young and stupid!
it really surprises me what you say about vodaphone saying it is not a default notice - as far as i was aware, credit reports show every time you have been late with a payment, especially so if they have had to ask debt collectors to chase the money.
the whole point of a credit report is so that lenders can assess how likely it is that you will pay them back the money they lend you. Information like default notices, even if you have now made restitution is really important to them, which is why i'm surprised the say it will come off.
its like saying that you go into an iva,pay it all off over 5 years then have a ompletely clean credit report - it just dosent hapen!
I hope you get the result you want
