Is it possible to pay money into an RBS account at a NatWest branch?

YES. As NatWest are owned by RBS they are virtually the same bank.

Even if they weren't it would still be possible, though you would probably be charged a fee.
Not exactly as easy as that. Although RBS own NatWest they are run as two seperate banks and their systems don't link up, so you can't access an RBS account from a NatWest branch.

You can deposit funds using a Bank Giro Credit - a pay in slip found in your RBS credit book or at the back of your chequebook. If you don't have one, they wont accept the credit. Cash takes up to 3 working days to credit so you're maybe best hitting RBS instead.
