Whilst many people will be familiar with identity fraud, does anyone know if there have been any successful prosecutions for application fraud in this country?

By that I mean lying on applications for credit cards and mortgages, like inflating salaries, I read something saying that 14,500 such application were successful last year, but I've never heard of anyone being arrested, let alone prosecuted for it.

Is this another part of your strategy for being untraceable (as in your other recent postings)? What sort of application fraud are you considering?
Yes there are prosecutions for this - it is called 'gaining a pecuniary advantage by deception' and people have gone to prison for it. One example of many:

I think it is very enterprising.

Have'nt MPs and Bank managers been doing the same thing for years.
you can be prosecuted for making a false statement or false declaration for benefits by the DWP. an attempt is enough, there doesn't have to money involved.
If I was ever to emmigrate I would, one month prior to departure, apply for every loan offered through junk mail.

Then bu55er off with the money.
