I have 4 endowments linked to my mortgage which all mature this year.. last year they were all on course to pay at least the amounts due on maturity.. could this all change with the downturn ? could they be worth less than what they were worth last year? they are through the norwich union and legal and general..

If they are normal endowments (not unit linked) then the value should not fall once bonuses have been added. There could be little or no terminal bonus though, which is often a major part of the return.

Depends on whether 'on course' assumed a terminal bonus.

If unit linked they will have fallen in value.
just to add to dzug, unit linked policies can be made "paid up" when they mature, ie you can stop paying but not cash it in until the market is more favourable. You could do this is you do not need the money at once.
