My partner got sent to prison 2 weeks ago and last week I opened a letter to him, and it was about a 6500 credit card debt, which Id never heard of. Basically what do I do about it? I know I'm not liable to pay it as I'm not on the credit agreement, but do I write telling them the situation and he cant pay it? He's also got 2 more credit card debts of 1200 and 3500, these were all before he met me. Also theres a ccj on there of 356- how do I find out if this has been paid? It was in 2006. Just worrying how Im going to afford everything.
Thanks in advance

Just write to the companies concerned stating that he has been sentenced to x amount of time in x prison, and if you are splitting up, tell them that too.
