Can i get a joint current account with my partner even though he has an IVA
2 Answers
My boyfriend has an IVA. We're looking to take out a joint current account to pay bills from, however it appears his outstanding debt will affect what accounts we can get - Nationwide will not provide an account for us. Can anyone point me in the right direction, of any banks that'll offer a suitable account for our needs? Thanks.

A word of warning about shared bank accounts in this situation. If his IVA fails- i.e he cant keep it up, then there is a high chance the creditors will pursue bankruptcy on him.
Which means the money in the joint account is likely to be considered fair game.
Single accounts where one of you pays one thing, and one pays another to share bills evenly may be better, but if you feel you reaallly want to do the joint thing, you should ensure you dont keep excess money in the account. Just enough at a time to pay the bills each month. That way you wont lose too much if the worst happenened.
