Yorkshire Windows window won't open

I have had problems with the same window on three occassions. Now theguarantee has run out the company wanyt to charge �85 just for someone to come out and look at the problem, again. What's happened is the vertical bar at the bottom of my side opening window won't raise far enough for the window to open. Is there a way of repairing this?
