The ESA (Employment Support Allowance) fuming!!
3 Answers
Has anyone had any good comments to say about this department - cos I aint!
Having had the worse year with Mr ES and cancer etc. they have now decided to stop his 60 a week support until he goes back to work following rectal cancer for the last year. I honestly do not understand this government. They give money away to thousands yet the support allowance is there to do just that and you can't have it when you need it. Hospital letters, doctors certificates say his stomach doesn't work and therefore he has no control over himself, not nice but foreign doctor sent to see him by the ESA says he is not sick because he can "hear" "see" "lift" and "smell" . Oh woopi doo. What about all the other sicknesses and illnesses that stop people from functioning or is only foreigners that are entitled to seek this support. He has worked nearly 50 years of his life, and goes back to work in September despite his problems. I think the whole thing stinks.
"Oh says the girl, you can appeal if you want" DON'T BOTHER!!!! Grrrrrr.
Let me know if you have had some good dealings with them.

He is almost out of the 28 weeks SSP so we think that the ESA will be the next hurdle...thanks for the warning....I do hope things work out OK for you.....it's a crime when we see so much money wasted in the Social system and yet the people who have paid in struggle to get help.
