Yes, a potential employer can always revoke an offer of employment for any reason. Usually depends on the job though, it's not a legal thing really more Employer preference.
just seen your other Q about this below. if you are going to be an estate agent employee then you will be handling financial advice, product selling etc I would say that they are well entitled to check your credit rating.
I believe other positions such as solicitors and banking employees are also supposed to be above reproach in terms of having immaculate personal finances and no debt.
so you're not allowed to borrow if you are a solictor then whoever, I'd rethink that one mate!
I think you mean bad debt!
