Hi all, can anyone tell me how I can get hold of a copy of my credit rating or file? I have been on the Experian website but they want me to join up and give card details which I don't wanna do?

It's the only way. If you did not give such information you could be anybody being nosey about somebody else. They need to know you are who you say you are, to stay within the law.
Cancel as soon as you have the information, and you will not be charged.

Are you sure this is the only way? Can't I send a cheque off to a credit firm?
You can request your Statutory Credit Report from each of the 3 main UK Credit Agencies - Call Credit, Equifax and Experian - by enclosing a £2 cheque with each postal application, however the statutory report is not as detailed as the credit report supplied by these agencies usually for a higher fee but which are often supplied on a free trial basis.
