Can anybody tell for sure how much can a pensioner have in savings. When I google it - I get two answers.

i think it's about 8,000.
what do you how much can a pensioner have.........as much as they bloody well like. Well that is unless you want benefits or nursing care.............

anyone can have as many savings as they like

thanks for that but I know State Pension is different to Job Seekers Allowance and I had to fill forms for a girl who is about to receive JSA and they asked for every single piece of savings she has and I thought that would apply to State Pension
If a person has enough national insurance credits they will entitled to at least the basic state pension when they reach pension age regardless of how much savings they have or a private pension.
I get a state pension,but as I do not claim any other benefits my savings are not to the interest of anyone except myself.
My savings would only come into play if I were to claim a means tested benefit.
as much as they like so long as they're not on income support.
